Location and health tracking

GPS is requested when you choose location discovery or start an outing. Exact coordinates stay on your device during tracking; saved activity records include trail name, distance, time, estimated steps, and completed checkpoint percentages. Nearby discovery sends a rounded search location to map services. GPS pauses when the app is hidden.

Steps are estimates from GPS distance and your configured stride. This web version does not read Apple Health, Health Connect, heart rate, or continuous background step sensors.

Trail crew and photos

Competition visibility is off until you opt in. Opted-in players share their player name and trail activity totals. A trail check-in shares a name and selected trail for 30 minutes, never a precise location. Turn it off in Trail Crew or your profile. Photos and clips are private by default. Publishing an upload makes its media, caption, player name, trail and optional approximate map pin visible to everyone. You can make it private again or delete it. Photos are resized and stripped of location metadata in your browser. Video clips retain their original metadata; remove sensitive metadata before publishing. Pins use the selected trail or map center, rounded to three decimal places, rather than your live GPS location.

Maps and game currency

OpenStreetMap supplies map tiles and mapped trails, waterfalls and viewpoints. Those providers receive map requests and the rounded area you search. Gold tokens are free game currency with no cash value or purchases. Paid arcade turns have disclosed odds and server-stored results. GPS records and arcade rewards are player-submitted and are not certified competitive results.

Arcade character progress and achievement effects retain their existing device-local saves. Purchased gear follows your account. Your account journal, photos, profile and gold balance are stored on the server. You can delete photos individually and stop location tracking at any time.
